6 hours with a savage
Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk ||| 6 Hours ||| Korczuch x ACSpots
Hour 0
What do you tell someone when they call you at 1 in the morning and tell you they have a Jeep with over 1000 Nm of torque available for a few hours? I threw on a pair of shoes, a hoodie and waited outside my door for Alex's arrival with the Trackhawk.
Hour 1
Dark red really suits this car, even in the dark the car somehow manages to really shine. Also, the car looks really good on the optional 20 inch satin black rims with the yellow brembo brakes.

Enough admiring the outside though, time to hop inside. Whoever specced this press car didn’t hold back, Black Laguna Leather Performance seats for 32 thousand złoty, and all of the 3 possible interior options, although you’ll have to excuse me I didn’t get to play with the two screens round the back. As I get seated I start feeling all the plastics around me, I expected them to be quite cheap and am not surprised, just slightly disappointed, but I forget about all that as soon as the supercharged V8 rips the night time air apart.
Hour 2
How many times have you heard someone say a car pushes you back into your seat? I hear it every time I read a review about a supercar, not so often when you’re driving a 2.5 tonne SUV. But here we are, the slightest nudge of the throttle rockets the car forward with basically no lag, often while losing grip at all 4 tires (because that’s what family SUVs are meant to be like). As soon as I felt that I knew i had to see what 0-100 felt like, thankfully right by my house there is a nice, long, and empty straight you can really see what 707 bhp feels like. Instead of telling you about it, let me show you what around 3.7 seconds to 100 looks like, without even using launch control.
Hour 3
And it’s time for fuel, I was going to complain about the poor fuel economy but can you really complain about 26 liter/100km when you do pulls constantly? While Alex is putting more petrol in the tank I decide to play about with the car and look around for things I didn’t see as the passenger. The cluster is slightly awkward, and honestly deserves a revision. You get a physical speedo on the left (Dial goes to over 300 so forget trying to read speed off it at a glance), 2 physical temperature and gas gauges on the right, and a circular display (Same as the Abarth 500 one I suspect) taking up the majority of the dash. Most people will choose to have the rev counter and one of the many options stuck up there, we went with the Nm, because seeing it hit 1080 is like an addictive drug.
.jpg)
However fun it is though the dash feels slightly outdated, especially next to the snappy entertainment system in the center. A compass stuck above the rev counter also feels quite useless, and you can’t even change it to show what you want. I’d love to see some traditional dials (yeah i’m old school) or a proper screen with more customization. Oh, car is filled up, time to get some sleep and get back to launching the car. Who thought red lights can be this fun?

Hour 4
It’s time to take the car out for some final photos before we leave it behind. Boot opens automatically, but then there is no button to close it? What’s going on Jeep? Whatever, I can close it from the key. While Alex is throwing stuff in the car I look under the hood, and I can just feel a banana forming on my face, because who doesn’t love a supercharger?

Hour 5
Giving the car a proper clean before we take photos is a must. And look, functional hood vents! But time to hop back in and get shooting. During the cruise the car is very comfortable, and surprisingly quiet, it’s only when you get on it that this car becomes uncivilized, a true mark for a family car.

Hour 6
It’s my last hour with the Trackhawk and i’m positively surprised, the car is still American (can’t take corners well but damn, in a straight line it’s quick) but inside it’s much more civilized, obviously it’ll be hard to compare quality and comfort to a Range Rover, but it’s not that far off anymore, and most people who get this will be perfectly pleased with what it offers in that regard. The engine however, that’s something I have trouble explaining because what kind of mad man takes the engine out a Hellcat Challenger and stuffs it into a family SUV? Whoever that man is, I want to meet them and congratulate them, because as it turns out, it works great.
